Co-President (2-year term)

Description:

Help lead the PTSA Board, act as the main bridge between the Principal, Teachers, and the parents of Cherry Crest, and uphold PTSA and legal nonprofit compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Monthly Board meetings to give updates and vote on different matters like budget or events (starting in August through June). Meetings are one hour.
  • Lead General Membership meetings which happen 4 times a year and are an hour in length to vote and give updates to all PTSA members.
  • Help give direction & support your Executive team, especially on events, fundraising, the yearly calendar, and annual budget.
  • Maintain compliance to ensure nonprofit status.
  • Liaise with the school by conveying the parents’ perspective and sharing priorities with school administration (principal) and teachers (PTSA teacher representatives).
  • Help recruit new volunteers and advocates for the PTSA.

Ideal Candidate

  • Organized person who is great at advocating for students and parents
  • Clear communicator who is good at running meetings and driving decisions
  • No experience needed -- you can shadow and learn from our current Co-Presidents & there are many tenured Board members ready to help you succeed!

  • Leads the Cherry Crest PTSA with over 100 strong parent & student volunteers and over 300 General Members.
  • Helped raise much needed funds for Cherry Crest Elementary to improve the learning and growth of our students
  • Have direct influence on PTSA plans, what we invest, and how we spend PTSA dollars
  • Will learn about how non profits, their boards, and local school advocacy works
